Mission and Profit - Raising The Bar

The CDFI Banking sector is in the throes of change as it faces the worst recession of our lifetime. Decline in asset values, reduced loan demand and increased cost of compliance is creating pressure on their financials. At the 2010 Annual Development Banking Conference, the attendees identified the need to adapt and change to survive and then thrive in this environment. Recently, NCIF held a day long strategic planning session where several key initiatives were highlighted by the group. Significant emphasis was placed on collaboration and working together as a group. The key ideas of (a) Telling The Story, (b) Capital Raising, (c) Impact Measurement, (d) Governance, (d) Potential for Common Shared Services and (d) Effective use of New Technology were highlighted as areas of focus. The conference focuses on all the above issues to achieve superior double bottom-line performance.
