Donna Gambrell, the CDFI Fund Director, gave the keynote address at the CDFI Coalition's 2011 CDFI Institute on March 1, 2011. Donna focused on meeting the new challenges to the CDFI industry given the current political and financial state of the union, including the affects of the proposed cuts to the CDFI Fund in terms of job loss and decreases in small business lending. She highlighted how the CDFI Fund addressed these issues in 2010, as well as recent developments that will further the drive the impact of the CDFI Fund in the coming year including the official opening of the Capacity Building Initiative and the recent $3.5 billion in NMTC allocation awards.
